The Business Systems Analyst has two main areas of concentration: (a) business process, and systems support and (b) project management. Business Process and Systems Support: This individual is the first point of contact for system-related issues from end users and also serves as a point of escalation for Analysts. The Business System Analyst tracks, diagnoses, replicates, troubleshoots, and resolves functional and technical issues reported by end users or analysts. Project Management: This individual plays a lead role on system projects and has frequent contact with end users, peers and managers by coordinating, documenting, and maintaining multiple IT projects simultaneously from initiation through post-launch implementation.


Business Process and Systems Support:

  • Ensure proper security administration for assigned business system(s).
  • Oversee end-user support and maintenance of assigned business systems and develop/implement strategies for continually improving these systems.
  • Guarantee proper development of training curriculum and conduct training sessions.
  • Create and maintain business process documentation for assigned business systems.
  • Supervise the configuration of assigned business systems.
  • Monitor daily integrity reports and audit queries for assigned business system(s).
  • Work independently and collaboratively with other Information Technology (IT) resources.

Project Management:

  • Lead the documentation and translation of business requirements into technical requirements to effectively communicate with developers and other required resources.
  • Effectively lead and manage the “technology” portion of change efforts related to business process and systems changes.
  • Develop and manage project plans to implement business solutions; monitor and communicate the progress of projects.
  • Collaborate with IT staff, business management, and end-users during all phases of planning, designing, developing, implementing, and supporting Enterprise Resource Planning and related business systems to ensure business requirements have been met.
  • Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews for new and modified systems and other post-implementation support.
  • May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Functional background in Human Resources, Payroll or Accounting.
  • Two (2) to Four (4) years of experience supporting, designing, and implementing enterprise business applications – ADP, PeopleSoft, Kronos, Ceridian or Oracle.
  • Sound knowledge of Relational database theory, design, and query writing – SQL Server (preferred) or Oracle.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of Project Management Software.
