Responsibilities

The Server engages with residents and guests to provide a memorable dining experience by taking food and beverage orders, retrieving and serving food & beverages according to service standards, courteously and efficiently.  This individual collects payments when necessary.  This individual assists in the appearance and maintenance of the restaurant area and equipment.   

  • Provide a high level of customer service at all times.
  • Anticipate resident’s needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of restaurant(s) operations, proper table set -up and dress code of the restaurant(s).
  • Work closely with the Food & Beverage Director and/or General Manager to keep residents satisfied with food and beverage programs.
  • Set tables in accordance to Coterie standards.
  • Serve residents and guests meals and beverages as requested.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving.
  • Adhere to Quality Enhancement standards and standard food safety practices.
  • Review daily menu with residents.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of Toast and/or POS system as well as manual systems.
  • Take and deliver accurate meal orders to residents and guests.
  • Remove used or soiled plates, utensils, glasses, linen from the dining room as needed.
  • Clean and reset tables immediately after resident and guests depart.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, prices (when applicable), preparation method/time, major ingredients and quality standards of taste, appearance, texture, serving temperature, portion size and method of presentation.
  • Assist with preparation and execution of special events, banquets, and theme meals.
  • Adhere to payment, cash handling and credit policies/procedures.
  • Process payments through the POS.
  • When applicable, acquaint new residents with menus, seating, and dining options and hours.
  • Clean and sanitize carpet, tables, chairs, condiment containers, and equipment used in the dining room.
  • Complete side duties as assigned: cleanliness, quality and amount of all restaurant stock and supplies using checklist; fold napkins.
  • Review reservations and accommodate requests and exceed expectations for pre-assigned tables as necessary.
  • Create a strong sense of teamwork and cooperation among all staff.
  • Attend Pre-Meal stand up held for all dining and kitchen staff.
  • May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.
Qualifications
  • Two (2) to three (3) years of experience as a server, Fining Dining experience preferred.
  • Food handling certificate where applicable.
  • Certificate in alcoholic awareness program where applicable.
  • Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Able to resolve problems of dissatisfied customers and/or employees.
  • Minimum of 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages and 21 to pour.
