Responsibilities

The Leave Administration Manager is responsible for providing compliance oversight and leadership in the development, implementation, and coordination of the Company’s leave of absence policies and procedures. This individual will also strongly emphasize collaboration with internal clients/colleagues and external vendors to meet the organization’s strategic needs and proactively identify and respond to customer needs.

 

  • Oversee the administration of leave of absence policies and procedures.
  • Create and/or streamline and implement processes and tools for leave of absence administration.
  • Collaborate with the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) team and the Information Technology (IT) team to ensure successful vendor interfaces are in place for accurate data recording and reporting.
  • Supervise all employee customer service operations aspects related to leave of absence matters.
  • Ensure efficient support of the operational transactions related to company policies and procedures of leaves of absences.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for leave administration in alignment and under the general direction and guidance of HR leadership and Legal.
  • Drive the implementation, communication, and administration of leave. Revise internal documents, policies, and communications as necessary to ensure Company compliance.
  • Review and analyze program utilization. Make recommendations on strategies to maintain cost-effectiveness and implement changes and/or enhancements. Develop, generate, and present reports to analyze leave data and trends.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external clients, colleagues, and vendors. Ensure vendors adhere to established plans, deliver targeted results, meet agreed-upon service levels and promptly address any issues that may arise.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the leave of absence team, creating and communicating a vision that motivates them to pursue high standards of excellence.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, developing, and evaluating assigned staff.
  • May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, is required.
  • Five (5) years of leave experience. Strong understanding and knowledge of HR administrative processes, procedures, and terminology required. 
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local leaves and disability laws (ADA, FMLA, etc.) required.
  • Proven experience with handling confidential information.  
  • Strong computer and research skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. Expert skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must have or be willing to get a COVID-19 vaccine, subject to legal requirements.
