Responsibilities

The Manager, Purchasing provides operational management of a portion of the purchasing organization with approximately $450M in total spend.

  • Successfully lead assigned purchasing team members with various experience levels, providing coaching, mentoring and development.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, developing, and evaluating assigned staff.
  • Assist aligning goals of team with company measurements, and annual functional and overarching company projects/goals.
  • Ensures all purchasing metrics and goals are met throughout the year for assigned portion of purchasing team.
  • Assist with the successful development and maintenance of supplier relationships, category management strategies, contract management, sourcing initiatives, system efficiencies, savings strategies, and organizational training.
  • Management of the purchasing process within the company purchasing system.
  • Lead, organize, and delegate duties when crisis/emergency support is required.
  • Additional assigned special projects throughout the organization as needed.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or any Business related field.
  • Five (5) or more years of purchasing experience.
  • Experience managing a large buy across a multi-site organization.
  • Three (3) or more years of prior management or direct supervisory experience.
  • Prior experience with Purchasing system(s) is required.
  • Experience in successfully executing complex, large-scale and cross-functional corporate initiatives that have delivered cost-savings at a total company level.
  • Proficient knowledge of standardized purchasing practices and procedures.
  • Six Sigma Certification a plus.
  • Member of the Supply Chain organization(s) a plus.
  • Strong computer skills including the advanced/expert use of Microsoft.
  • May be required to travel up to 10% of the time on behalf of the Company.
  • Travel time is subject to change based on business needs.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Position requires driving responsibilities (may use Company provided vehicle and/or personal vehicle).
  • Must satisfactorily meet and be in compliance with Company motor vehicle policy standards and Travel Policy.
