The Real Estate Counsel provides legal support for the Company’s real estate and corporate transactions, as well as provides day-to-day counseling to management on real estate, construction and corporate matters.


  • Provide legal support for acquisition, development and redevelopment initiatives.
  • Manage legal aspects of real estate projects, including land use/entitlements, construction and financing.
  • Advise management and support Atria’s senior living communities on various real estate issues.
  • Draft, negotiate, review and comment on agreements and other legal documents.
  • Manage work of outside counsel and associated costs.
  • May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.
  • Six (6) or more years of experience in transactional real estate practice; prior in-house experience is preferred.
  • Real estate development/construction law experience a plus.
  • Strong corporate law background.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills to establish cross-functional, collaborative relationships.
  • Outstanding organization and planning skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must have or be willing to get a COVID-19 vaccine, subject to legal requirements.
