Responsibilities

The Security Guard provides property, resident, team member, and guest security and back-up support to front desk, housekeeping, food services and others as needed.

  • Handle all resident and guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism.
  • Patrol buildings and grounds of community.
  • Examine doors, windows, gates and other access points to determine they are secure.
  • Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles. Maintains general security involving local authorities as needed.
  • Inspect equipment to ascertain if tampering has occurred.
  • Permit authorized persons to enter property.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of state laws, House Rules and other Company policies and enforces these throughout community.
  • Watch for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked.
  • Sound alarm or calls police or fire department by telephone in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
  • Use radio or other communication devices in a clear and concise manner.
  • Work effectively with team members such as Concierge, Valet, Driver and Reception to provide great service.
  • Record data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning of machinery or equipment, for use of supervisory staff.
  • Perform light routine maintenance and housekeeping duties as schedule allows.
  • Operate various pieces of equipment such as: fire alarm enunciator & monitoring system, emergency call system monitoring board, wet-vac & floor care equipment, routine housekeeping & maintenance equipment, etc.
  • Report potentially unsafe conditions.
  • May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one (1) to three (3) years related experience handling emergencies and routine maintenance and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be fully vaccinated and provide vaccination record time at time of hire.
  • Must be detail oriented and have keen observation skills.
  • Must successfully complete all Atria specified training programs.
  • Strong spoken and written communication skills.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
