Bob K. likes to keep moving. He also enjoys making people happy. As transportation director and driver at the Atria Mount Pleasant senior living community, he welcomes the chance to do both each day.
“At Atria, it’s like being with family,” Bob said. “You get this wonderful gratification from the residents and the wisdom they share.”
From behind the wheel of the Atria community bus, Bob forms close connections with those he serves as he shuttles residents to appointments and events. “I’m kind of a ham,” Bob says. “But sometimes I don’t even have to talk because our residents are enjoying each other’s company so much. When that happens, I just sit back and smile.”
A self-described jack-of-all-trades, Bob spreads joy throughout the Atria Mount Pleasant community, whether it’s tickling the ivory with his piano skills or filling in at the bridge table. “Every day I want to enrich someone’s life,” Bob says. “It’s more than a job. It’s a calling.”
