This year, 236 outstanding employees received Atria’s prestigious Exceptional Service Award. Across all Atria brands, this annual award reflects our vision of service and recognizes those who go above and beyond serving residents.

For their talent and dedication, recipients earn special recognitions and financial bonuses. Meet just a few of this year’s winners, introduced by their community leaders.

Emily Harrison with residents

Emily Harrison, Atria Lincoln Place, Waitstaff

“Emily is a friendly, attentive soul who cares deeply about people. A quick story –recently, Atria Lincoln Place experienced a tornado warning. We quickly moved residents and staff to safe spaces throughout the community. Once everyone was in place, a remarkable thing happened: We heard someone playing the piano! In the library, Emily noticed residents were nervous, so she started playing the piano to ease their anxiety. It was such a selfless, thoughtful and heartwarming act of kindness!”

Kimmy Hong with her ESA award

Kimmy Hong, Atria Willow Glen, Restaurant Manager

“Kimmy was born in Macau, China. Her family immigrated to the United States in 1982. In our Customer Satisfaction Survey, there is one name that appears more than anyone: Kimmy Hong. Down to each resident, everyone commends her exceptional work and personality. Kimmy is upbeat, high energy, and caring every day and every shift, no matter the circumstances. She’s an inspiration to all who live and work here.”

Jazmine Dowd with awards

Jazmine Dowd, Holiday Cowhorn Creek Estates, Housekeeper

“Jazmine is always willing to help when needed, often before she’s even asked to. When something needs to be done or someone is in need, she’s on top of it. In just a year and a half, Jazmine has grown and advanced at Holiday Cowhorn Creek Estates in so many ways. It’s impossible not to see how much she loves her job and what she does for our residents.”

Daniel Nezwek with his ESA award

Daniel Nezwek, Holiday Lincoln Square, Sous Chef

“Daniel, our Sous Chef, is the perfect embodiment of exceptional service. Not only does he cook and keep our kitchen running, but he also displays a love for our residents daily. Whether it’s a late-night run to the store to find a key ingredient or picking fresh blueberries because residents love them in their morning pancakes, our community depends on him in so many ways. I want to make sure he knows how much we all love and appreciate him.”

Sara Chavez with her ESA award

Sara Chavez, Atria Campana Del Rio, Resident Services Coordinator

“Sara Chavez is very deserving of this award. She goes above and beyond daily to ensure residents receive the best care. She serves all residents proactively, and with a smile. Not only does she fulfill her role, but she goes above and beyond to find ways to help residents and the community however she can.”
