Finding joy every day comes second nature to Aisha, a member of the waitstaff at Atria Mount Pleasant in South Carolina. Residents at the community even have a special nickname for her.
“They call me Sunshine,” she says, “because they can see me smiling, even through a mask.”
Aisha says her 90-year-old grandmother helps shape her positive attitude and influences her interactions with residents. “Being able to put a smile on their faces makes me feel amazing,” Aisha says.
